Studying in Australia for less than 3 month

If you intend to study for less than 4 months in Australia you do not need to apply for a student visa: You may undertake any course of study for a maximum period of three months on a Visitor visa or Working Holiday visa.

However, there are advantages to study for a Student visa.

If you are studying on a visitor visa you:

• do not have access to Australia's subsidised student health cover
• are not able to study for more than three months
• are generally not able to change status to an overseas student in Australia
• do not have work permission.
