Mountain Creek State High School

Mountain Creek State High School

Mountain Creek State High School is located in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast, about 100 km north of Brisbane, near Noosa and about 4 km from the popular surfing beach Mooloolaba. The famous Australia Zoo is also nearby.

Students can choose from a range of subjects and enjoy the dynamic learning environment, quality facilities and unique coastal lifestyle. Mountain Creek State High School has a international student program and one of the few selected state high schools in Queensland to offer international students the worldwide recognised IB Diploma. Find out more about the IB Program in Queensland.

The school was founded in 1995 and is known for new teaching methods such as different lesson times or alternating indoor and outdoor lessons. The European Council of International Schools finds this system highly recommended. The focus at the school is art, music, outdoor education, film and sound production, as well as computer technology. The school is recommended for students who are interested in the media and design industries. Talent in the artistic field is very encouraged here.

Mountain Creek State High School offers a wide variety of athletic and extracurricular opportunities for students both in and out of school.

The innovative orientation program at the school allows you to get used to the local community. Students attend a surf awareness course at the Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club. The day ends with some beach games, shopping and dinner on the beach.

The school also offers visiting students trips to the Eumundi Markets, Brisbane, DFO, Southbank, Wet N Wild, Dream World, Fraser Island, Cable Skiing and Australia Zoo.
