The Guardian (13th April 2010) published an article discussing where higher education in the UK is going. It was generally agreed amongst senior figures at a seminar including some 60 guests from a variety of professional roles, that technology has the power to transform higher education on both a national and global scale, posing big questions for universities and colleges about how they might operate in the future.

"We now live in a society where knowledge is generated in all sorts of spheres across the world," said one participant. "So how is the university going to reconsider its research activities and responsibilities?"
