The Gold Coast’s Griffith University and the Professional Golfers Association International Golf Institute have joined forces to teach amateurs and professionals the advantages and disadvantages of all things golf. Degree students will even get to play 18 holes once a week with two Gold Coast professionals! Griffith has offered golf-related courses for a number of years but 2006 is the first time the PGA has been involved. New this year is a certificate-four vocational education and training course in sport and recreation (intermediate golf management practices) and an advanced golf training program for elite golfers. Given the networking and deal-making opportunities golf presents, Griffith staff see it as a natural inclusion in a business degree.
