By enrolling in an Australian education institute via AA, you will receive our support and assistance in trying to find you a Scholarship. Scholarships are provided by many education providers and cover part or all of the tuition fees and are open to students who are currently studying, or are planning to study in Australia. They are based on the individual and will be assessed during tests, which Australian and international students take together. There are only a few scholarship places available for international students and you may face strong competition. To be awarded a scholarship your academic achievements and your overall activities will be considered.

If you want to apply for a scholarship, please ensure that you meet the selection criteria for specific scholarships, you fully understand the terms and conditions of the scholarship, and that you apply by the closing date specified.

Scholarships are offered by the Australian government, students' home-country governments, Australian education institutions and private organisations.

Please note, that we can only assist you with your scholarship if you:

• Applied and received an offer via AA
• Are not a permanent resident of Australia
• Are a full-time student in Australia and have not yet started studies at an institute, or have had an internal transfer within the institute.
• Send us the relevant documentation such as academic results and relevant paperwork.

We provide multiple programs free of charge for international students, if they appoint us as their agent. Simply submit your application to us. Students receive free of charge information on Australian education institutions. Either select your courses and study locations or ask for more information. Based on this, students will receive a list of institutes that are best suitable for them within a short period. Therefore students will save valuable searching time.

  I would like to provide you with some information regarding WideBay TAFE and all we have to offer International students.

Our Institute offers intensive English language study to international students wishing to attain a higher level of written and spoken English.

All English Language programs are offered full-time with 25 hours of classes each week. An open and friendly approach to learning is adopted in order to ensure students are able to achieve their full potential. To ensure quality delivery of our program, WideBay TAFE Language Centre is accredited by the National ELT Accreditation Scheme (NEAS Australia).

English Language study may be undertaken in order to improve your English for everyday use or specific purposes such as preparing for future studies or business.

Students may commence English studies on any Monday throughout the year with the exception of Queensland school holiday periods and Course Costs are $260 per week.

WideBay TAFE offers an alternative to studying in a city environment. Our beautiful natural surroundings provide students with the opportunity to enjoy an active outdoors lifestyle while undertaking courses of study of the highest standard. The Institute encourages students to become members of our community and we organise regular social functions and excursions to ensure that time spent with us is exciting and rewarding. WideBay TAFE is located in South East Queensland just a short three hour drive from the State's capital city, Brisbane.

WideBay TAFE incorporates Bundaberg College, Hervey Bay Senior College and Maryborough College. The Institute is the largest and most significant training provider in the Wide Bay region. The Institute offers over 500 courses to nearly 10,000 students each year in areas such as, Business, Information Technology, English Language, Child Care, Hospitality and Tourism, High School, Sport and Recreation, Performing and Visual Arts, Multimedia and Marine Engineering and many more.

WideBay TAFE boasts exceptional facilities at each Campus. These include Flexible Learning Centres where students and staff are able to develop, or improve, their computer skills, with the assistance of Tutors, at any time they choose. Libraries, Canteen facilities, Training Restaurants, and a Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Salon are further examples of the facilities available. Students can also develop their fitness level through Programs in a fully equipped and supervised Gymnasium located at the Hervey Bay College.

International Students also have access to a wide range of Support Services, both personal and study related. These Services include a Counsellor, and a full-time International Student Support Officer, who are dedicated to providing services such as assistance on arrival, Orientation to Courses, Passport and Visa assistance, accommodation arrangements, social activities, Newsletters, Reports, study assistance and personal support.

WideBay TAFE also coordinates a “Homestay Accommodation” program. Families who offer accommodation are interviewed, and counselled on supporting International Students living away from home, by the International Student Support Officer based at Hervey Bay Senior College. This ensures that students are offered safe, quality accommodation with full board and meals. The “Homestay Accommodation” program provides an ideal opportunity for students to live with an Australian family and to experience Australian culture. Students are required to pay Homestay Accommodation fees directly to their Homestay provider.
